Random Monday - September 23, 2013

It's been over a week since I posted.  Yes, everything's fine, I'm just SO SO SO SO tired.  Too tired to blog or read or watch tv or anything.  Taking care of the kids, taking minimal care of the house, and work is all I can handle right now.  Princess started kindergarten a few weeks ago which means getting up 45 minutes earlier than usual plus I started back to my babysitting job last week.  I've been pregnant before and had newborns before, but I had no idea that this level of sheer exhaustion and fatigue was possible.  I have way too much to do today to take a nap, but when I got home from work, I ate lunch and then sat on the couch and cried because I was just that tired.  I finally decided to quit being an idiot about it and take a quick nap because it was obvious I wasn't going to check anything off my to-do list in that condition anyways.  45 minutes later, I feel a smidge better, but I can already feel the fatigue creeping in again.  By the way, I will be lodging a complaint with my doctor because I still haven't gotten that second trimester energy I was promised...

Anyway, here are a few random things from the last 10 days...

Walking outside with Little Man on a windy day, he looked up at me and said, "I don't want to 'wind' away!"  (blow away)

Princess found a pair of ear muffs and wore them around the house for a day while proclaiming them her very own "muffins."

Last weekend, Hubby and I visited his younger sister with the kids.  The kids had a blast since she made it her job to spoil them for the weekend :)  We took them to a candy store on Saturday morning, then to Golden Corral buffet for lunch (quite possibly the best buffet ever).  Of course, the dessert counter with its chocolate fountain and cotton candy was what really impressed the kids.

Princess with her very own cotton candy (that's Little Man covered in chocolate on her left.)

We went back to my sister-in-law's for naps and then finished the day with Chuck E. Cheese.  It was Princess and Little Man's second trips to Chuck E. Cheese and Star's first.

Star loved the pizza and watching all the commotion.

I was working on the computer and listening to Pandora on my tablet when I noticed a cute little someone dancing along so I grabbed my camera.

Random Monday-July 8, 2013

I was feeding Star a jar of baby food and when the jar was finished, she started begging for more.  I gave her some Gerber puffs and asked her, "Where are you putting all this food?!?"  Across the table from me, Little Man answered my rather obvious question...
Little Man: "In her mouth!"

I gave Little Man a toddler spoon with his applesauce.  He looked at it and said in disgust, "Mommy, 'dis a little spoon.  I not little, I big!"

Upon her request, I spread butter on Princess's waffle one morning for breakfast.  She looked at it and grinned, "It's like it has sunscreen on it!"

Today, Little Man was telling me all about his weekend.  Not what we actually did this weekend, but his own version which means he was basically making it up as he went along.  I wasn't paying much attention until this sentence..."I went on a trip and my friend went tripping with me!"
o_O

On a completely different note, I dare you to watch this video of Star and not at least crack a smile.

Star's First Cereal

Star has had ice cream, applesauce, and mashed potatoes thanks to a certain grandpa and grandma so I was a little nervous about how plain old boring rice cereal would be received by her.

"I'm not sure I really want to open my mouth for this..."

"Hmmmmmm.  This is different."

"I think I"ll have another bite."

She loved it.  LOVED IT.  When Princess tried cereal for the first time, she reluctantly ate a few bites and was done. Little Man was a little more enthusiastic, but didn't eat very much either.  Star wolfed down the whole bowl (all one tablespoon of it) and would've eaten more if I had it.  She laughed each time I gave her another bite.

" I love this stuff!"

Little Man saw how much Star loved the cereal so he asked for a bite too.  Somehow, it just didn't taste the same as he remembered.

Nope, not very good at all.

"Do you mean to tell me that it's all gone?!?"

And to put a smile on your face, here's a video of Star chowing down.

Random Happiness

Here are a few things that make me happy right now:

Little Debbie's Cherry Cordials-yum yum!

Our new Christmas tree!  Our old one was a dinky Charlie Brownish $20 tree from Walmart. Out landlady was downsizing to a small tree and gave us hers.  Notice how all the candy canes are front and center?  I let the kids hang them on the tree :)

I've seriously watched this video about 15 times already.  Best proprosal ever!

Our Christmas card picture.  Star's expression cracks me up everytime I look at it.

A much better picture of my littlest cutie!
